Many periods of history and locations around the world can be quickly identified by sight of their preferred transport. For example, the three wheeled tuk tuk in bright yellow and green is synonymous with the streets of India. At Keeley Hire we have a wide variety of props which are, or are connected with, a wide variety of modes of transport.
Katie Melua sang that there are nine million bicycles in Beijing. Whilst we can’t verify that figure, there do seem to be an awful lot. We have a very large selection of bicycles ourselves. They come in a mixture of styles suited to various locations and historical periods.
We also have wood-cladded row boats, should you prefer to travel on water. Naturally, we also have oars amongst our props.
Even babies need to get around, and we have a wonderful selection of prams and pushchairs. These include Victorian prams and many from the 1930s and 1940s. It really is quite fascinating to see them all together and reflect on how the materials used and designs have changed.
If you were particularly wealthy centuries ago you could have been taken everywhere in a sedan chair and we do have some examples of this archaic form of transport, along with some rickshaws. You will have to provide the person to lift or pull as appropriate though.
At Keeley Hire we provide props for television, films, stage and special events. We are located just off the A10 in Hertfordshire and you can arrange collection or we will arrange delivery of the props you require.
